A Clue

At one pole we

have solid, square,

dumpy reliability.

At the other, slender attenuation – grace and reverence.

But with the dumpy shape the mood is one of strength. But the mood created by slender attenuated shapes is quite different –

one of taking care, of reverence. It’s delicate. It could break. Treat it accordingly. An important mood for

a tool-using creature. Using a slender grass to extract a meal of termites?

Be gentle, careful, calm, respect

its fragility.

But does it work the opposite

way? If we widen the top of

Fuji, narrow  its base, and

straighten the hills beneath,

thus making it more solid

and square?

(yes…!)
